Installation

Windows Only

1. Download and extract the Speckle Software. Place the directory and its contents in your preferred installation location (e.g. C:\Program Files). If you lack administrative permissions, you will probably need to store it in your user directory.

   • Create Desktop or Start Menu shortcuts to the Speckle Software executable as desired

2. Install the included Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable (VC_redist.x64.exe) or download the latest version directly from Microsoft.

3. Install the Basler pylon v5.2.0 Camera Software Suite. Newer versions may be compatible but have not been tested.

   • Select the Camera User installation profile
   • Select the USB and/or GiGE interfaces as required by your camera
   • Install to the default directory: C:\Program Files\Basler\pylon 5

4. You should now be able to run the Speckle Software program

   • speckle_pylon5_usb: For use with USB 3.0 cameras
   • speckle_pylon5_gige: For use with GigE cameras

   Note: If you encounter a “Windows protected your PC” alert, just click More Info > Run anyway to open the program
